How much does an air conditioner cost? 

One of the questions we get asked often is how much a new heating or air conditioning system costs. When it comes to giving a price for a new system, each home is unique. There are three big areas that all affect the cost: the size of your home, the location of your home and the type of unit you want.

The size of your home will determine the tonnage or btu (size) of your air conditioner: the larger your home, the larger tonnage or btu your system will need and the higher the price the unit will be. The location of the home will affect the amount of time you will use your system. For example, a home in the desert will use air conditioning more often than a home by the beach. Finally, the type of unit can change the price of the system. Getting a more efficient unit costs more upfront, but pays for itself over the life of the unit.
